Anthropology of Farewells
more about ...»» My dad died this year on 30 April 2018. Since 7 January 2011, he had been paralyzed on one side and confined to his bed. He died very slowly, kept alive by his fear of death.
And yet, in the end, it was a surprising, very intimate feeling that is difficult to describe. It was a feeling of farewell in my entire being, as if two intertwined bushes had been torn apart.
One part broke apart, and another now received more light.
It wasn't black or white. It was entirely different.
In my series, I try to visualize this tearing apart.
