Gold is provokes

Gold appeals to western-influenced people differently than it did to the Aztecs, Mayans or ancient Egyptians. Westerners start to distrust themselves even in the face of gold. It enters their subconscious. They fear what it might generate in them. They distrust this potential as though it were the evil incarnate.
For Aztecs, Mayans and Egyptians, gold was sacred, but had no value in itself. It was the tears, the blood and the flesh of the gods, not a means of payment or adornment to secular decorations.

The Traces of Money

A series about the mirror of the soul. Over the catalyst of the imaginable to become visible, brought about by one of the most complex cultural human achievements - money.

It bears all the attributes that are defined in Buddhism as the highest form of realisation. It flows through all beings and the world like water a sponge and changes everything and everyone it touches.

This is essentially a series about the traces, the smell of what money can create.

Money explores wishes, dreams, conscious and unconscious fantasies, and it can make them visible. It creates in the real world a real image of the imagined ideas that float invisibly in neural spheres.

It is interesting that people who have a lot of money are able to make their conscious and unconscious boundaries visible for themselves and for others.

The visions of those people who do not have sufficient money are, however, protected without attracting waves of criticism from others. They can dream of creating immeasurable things. They do not have to expose themselves. They do not have to denominate the details, take responsibility and withstand the stresses which become necessary if their dreams become reality. They can remain in their great unfocussed fantasy castle. On the other hand, such vicarious satisfaction cannot compensate their emptiness and unhappiness. Frequently, this apparent absence produces the real sense of life.

It may sound crazy, but to have enough money demonstrates the limits of the imagination of anyone on whom money just lands mercilessly.  Likewise, having money enables someone who has the talent to do to allow his goodness, fertile imagination and visions and also traditional crafts to flourish.

Money can not own a person. However, it can stay with us, flowing through us and like a catalyst with its stimulating effect which is after the same like before, let thoughts come true. It is "Pure from the beginning" is "Free flowing" and "The Mirror of the Soul". It leaves traces in the real world "The Traces of Money".

In each of the collages, sheets of paper and gilt frame combine to form a single unit. They are a unified allegory for the flowing and the eternal.

The Collages ...

... like leaves on a tree are about 100 papers, fixed only on one side, free one above the other. They respond to changes of humidity in the different seasons, in that the surface opens and closes. In this interaction with the world it creates an organic change in surface and an interaction of light and shadow.

The Gilding ...

... is a gilding technique originating from medieval church painting which is based on Gesso and Polyment.  In order to preserve the pure solid, unbroken warm lustre of gold and to obtain its pure materiality, the gilding is not predominantly patinated.
