Photography Series: 11 Man in the Moon - No I to XXV

11 Man in the Moon - No I to XXV

SUBJECT Unknown neighbourhood children have kicked footballs onto my balcony. These footballs come from kids playing on the street were I live. This quarter of Berlin, inspiringly named Wedding, was dominated by some hope, many children and poverty and for a long time has been characterized by immigrants from Turkey, Arab countries and refugees from the war in former Yugoslavia. So these footballs give us a window to the life of children on Berlin's dark site of the moon. Now it changes slowly. Since the administrative integration of Berlin's central upmarket 'Mitte' district with Wedding to become the expanded Berlin-Mitte this change is obvious.  These balls tell us about former times in this place.
